PT – Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Clerk
Summary of Responsibilities
The afternoon & evening grocery/dairy/frozen clerk is responsible for providing customers with quality grocery items in a friendly and courteous manner, while ensuring the grocery/dairy/frozen departments are stocked and presentable.
Essential Duties
The grocery/dairy/frozen clerk plays an important role in the ongoing functions of the grocery/dairy/frozen departments. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:

Asks customers if they need assistance and suggests additional sales in the grocery/dairy/frozen departments

Accurately stocks products within the grocery/dairy/frozen departments, which includes assisting with unloading delivery trucks when they arrive and stocking products either to the backroom or floor, depending on inventory

Monitors products being stocked to ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations

Maintains a thorough knowledge of products provided by the department

Ensures State and County safety and sanitation standards are met with all equipment, surfaces, and floors within the department and the proper methods are used when handling food

Make a bale at night when necessary

Make sure sale items are filled for next morning

Flexibility to work some day shifts when needed
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
Based on the responsibilities of the position, the grocery/dairy/frozen clerk is required to have:

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Knowledge of available grocery
Physical and Environmental
The grocery/dairy/frozen clerk is located within a retail grocery environment and may experience both hot and cold temperatures throughout the working day. Physical requirements include:

Regularly lifting up to 50 pounds

Ability to push, pull, bend, lift, and twist
