Daytime Cashier – Weekdays

The responsibility of the cashier is to provide customers with a friendly and courteous experience while they are  purchasing their selections. 

Essential Duties 

• Provides superior customer services by acknowledging all customers encountered, asking if they need  assistance, thanking them for choosing HFMP/Mendon Meadows
• Accurately and efficiently processes the customers entire purchase
• Helps to maintain a clean store by ensuring registers, floors, and work areas are sanitary
• Follows proper techniques when bagging items, ensuring customers are able to carry purchases and following  safety protocols, including, but not limited to separating raw meat from other products 
• Adheres to all State and County regulations regarding the sale of age-restricted products (i.e. tobacco, nicotine,  alcohol, etc.) 
• Properly processes, including sorting cash and change, and providing customers with proper change when  appropriate, all forms of payment and discounts, including taxation of products, such as cash, EBT, WIC, credit  card, coupons, store discount program 
• Maintains a knowledge of weekly sale items 
• Maintains knowledge of product locations throughout the store to respond accurately to customer questionsReports any customer concerns to management

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements 

Based on the responsibilities of the position, the cashier is required to have: 

• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques 
• Knowledge of age-restricted product regulations 

Physical and Environmental 

• Ability to push, pull, bend, lift, and twist
• Standing on your feet for 4 hours before a break
